This bike ride leaves at 5:15am from outside the Musgrave Park Pool in South Brisbane - and will be the 'river loop' (about 1.5 hours).  Typically with a couple groups, suitable for a wide range of abilities - meeting back at The Roastery Cafe (25 Glenelg Street, South Brisbane) at about 6:45am.

Tuesday Night Track is aimed at improving your ability to handle the physiological (and psychological) elements of faster running. 

One of the best things about running track is that no man or woman gets left behind!  We use the lanes (e.g. faster runners run in outside lanes) with the intent that people run for similar periods of time (e.g. 90 second effort, 60 second recovery) but the distances vary that are completed (e.g. 375m, 400m, 435m). By having someone to run with despite different pacing, we can work together to achieve our goals.  Typical distance around 7.5km, with 5km of this being hard efforts.

Meet at the seats close to the track to the left of the centre aisle.  $5.00 for lights or $3,50 if you buy a multi-pass.

Sunday morning coming down - Redcliffe Loop

This Sunday, plans are afoot for a ride out to Redcliffe - leaving the car park of Centenary Pool (Gregory Terrace, Spring Hill) at 6am.  We'll head up Gympie Road, and swing through Strathpine one route.  Will be a breakaway pace (some 28km/ hour average) - around 85km.

Mooloolaba Training Day (& SC70.3 Recon)

Something special this Saturday as we head up to Mooloolaba.  This will be ideal for those preparing for greatness at the Sunshine Coast 70.3.

How Much ?: All training sessions will be free. Folk from other triathlon clubs are welcome to join, but they MUST be a Triathlon Australia member.

What’s the plan?:

  • 6:30am: Bike ride to depart from Mooloolaba’s “Loo with a view” at 6:30am SHARP. We’ll do a recon of the 70.3 bike course (minus the motorway).  We'll aim to do two laps of the hinterland loops before heading back into town.   Will be about 70km all up, with some bike tips/ tricks from Matt .
  • 10:00am (approx.): Run off the bike, following the 70.3 run course (albeit on the footpaths at all times).  It'll be about 50 minutes all up, including some run tips and tricks from Brad.
  • 11:00am (approx.): Brunch at CK Coffee and Wholefoods Café, before chillaxing and maybe going for a 1km ocean swim (bring your wetsuit if you have one).

Need some experience swimming in open water? Here's your chance to get guidance from one of the best in the business.

Grimsey’s Adult Swimfit one hour session at Suttons Beach cover everything you’ll need to know about open water swimming from starts, pack swimming, turn buoys, sighting, drafting and finishes. These sessions are conducted in a safe and friendly environment and are open to all competent swimmers over 12 years of age.

Meeting point is in front of the Redcliffe Surf Club 15 minutes before the start time of each session
