Cruising and a Roll'n Departing My Sweetopia 6am Saturday this cruisey ride will incorporate Mount Cootha Backside and Riverloop. Approximately 2.5-3hrs of riding. For those wanting something a little easier, the front side of cootha can be taken instead of the backside, however mandatory photo is at the look out. Brekky and coffee to follow at The Roastery around ~9am

Get your swim-bike-run fix with Brisbane Triathlon Club on the weekend of 2 and 3 September in Mooloolaba. This weekend will be IDEAL for those preparing for greatness at the Sunshine Coast 70.3.

How Much ?: All training sessions will be free. Folk from other triathlon clubs are welcome to join, but they MUST be a Triathlon Australia member.

What’s the plan?:

◾6:30am: Bike ride to depart from Mooloolaba’s “Loo with a view” at 6:30am SHARP. We’ll do a recon of the 70.3 bike course (minus the motorway)
◾11:00am: Run off the bike, following the 70.3 run course (albeit on the footpaths at all times)
◾1pm: Brunch at CK Coffee and Whoolfoods Cafe
◾2pm: Ocean swim (up to 2km) – meet on the beach between the surf living saving flags at Mooloolaba Beach (just south of the “Loo with a view”) at 2pm (and we’ll enter the water further south where it’s a LOT safer).

◾6:30am: Bike ride to depart from Mooloolaba’s “Loo with a view” at 6:30am SHARP.  The plan is to ride to Noosa for Massimo gelati before returning home (about 90km, but it's an out and back ride - so folk can turn around whenever suits).  
◾Post-ride: We be's chillin'.

Cycling Session - TFI Friday

This bike ride leaves at 5:15am from outside the Musgrave Park Pool in South Brisbane - and will be the 'river loop' (about 1.5 hours).  Typically with a couple groups, suitable for a wide range of abilities - meeting back at The Roastery Cafe (25 Glenelg Street, South Brisbane) at about 6:45am.

Run Session - Tuesday Night Track

Tuesday Night Track is aimed at improving your ability to handle the physiological (and psychological) elements of faster running. 

One of the best things about running track is that no man or woman gets left behind!  We use the lanes (e.g. faster runners run in outside lanes) with the intent that people run for similar periods of time (e.g. 90 second effort, 60 second recovery) but the distances vary that are completed (e.g. 375m, 400m, 435m). By having someone to run with despite different pacing, we can work together to achieve our goals.  Typical distance around 7.5km, with 5km of this being hard efforts.

Meet at the seats close to the track to the left of the centre aisle.  $5.00 for lights or $3,50 if you buy a multi-pass.

Run Session – PCRG run session

Our Tuesday morning run sessions have now merged with Pat Carroll Running Group. We will now meet at 5:25am at The Ship Inn and be under professional guidance of one of Australia's greatest runners of all time!

PCRG is not an elite group and caters for runners of all abilities…...

Each session will involve:

•    Easy jog/warm up for 15-20 min, finishing at session venue
•    Light stretching followed by 80 metre sprints with a walk back recovery

•    The PCRG session “core”.
•    Easy jog/cool down for 15-20 min, finishing at The Ship Inn no later than 6.20am.

Normally the sessions cost $10 but these will be provided FREE for BTC members.  Please ensure you wear either your BTC Running Singlet or T-Shirt so you can be identified otherwise you will be charged the $10.  If you do not have one, these can be purchased for $52 and $60 respectively by emailing admin@brisbanetriclub.com

Cycling Session - Brookfield SufferFest

A change of pace this Saturday, as we turn up the dial to eleven and satisfy a need for speed.  This ride is not for the faint-hearted – it will be FAST, with some fairly tough climbing involved too – up/ and down the Brookfield Fingers.   We’ll depart at 6:15am sharp – from the Wally Lewis Statue at Suncorp Stadium (40 Castlemaine Street, Milton).  After we roll past the Brookfield General Store (550 Brookfield Road), it’ll be on like Donkey Kong – with a $50 credit at Evolve Organics for the first up one of the fingers.   We should be back at the Brookfield Café by around 8am.  For those wanting to head straight back, ‘Pistol’ Piotr will take you back to Suncorp Stadium.  Those wanting something a bit longer may choose to stay on with Ultra BD. 

For those wanting a more leisurely ride, we’d suggest meeting at the Brookfield General Store around 8am – and rolling up and down the Brookfield Fingers at your own pace.

Sunday Cootha Trails

The coastal high 50 team will again be hitting the Cootha trails for a long training session and all are welcome to join in. The full session  is 27k of trails starting at sunrise of 6 am but with the course going past the start point the times you can cut it short if you please.   The mountain is well equipped with hydration stations at various rest stops but it's always handy to carry your own pack and nutrition is a must in a long run off this nature.  Please download the attached strava route to ensure no one who intends to run get lost in the bush.etails

Where: car park below channel 9 tower

How far: 27k full option of 17k or less

What to bring: camelpak, trail ready shoes,  nutrition for up to 4 hours, Downloaded  route map  and fun attitude.
