Steady Saturday - Cruisy River Loop (with a smidgen of mojo)

  • Mysweetopia

With a fair few racing at Robina on Sunday, it's a cruisy loop around the river city.  We'll leave MySweetopia at 5:30am, and do a river loop, before returning for brekky somehwere (likely Miss Bliss, but TBA on Facebook) around 7am.  It'll be a very social pace suitable for a wide range of abilities, with 4 x 3 minute hit-outs to get the blood pumping.   It's a perfect taper ride for those racing the next day, or just a nice social ride for those not.

Tuesday Night Track

  • UQ Athletics Track

Running track is a great way to get FASTer.  Tuesday Night Track is aimed at improving your ability to handle the physiological (and psychological) elements of faster running.

One of the best things about running track is that no man or woman gets left behind!  We use the lanes (e.g. faster runners run in outside lanes) with the intent that people run for similar periods of time (e.g. 90 second effort, 60 second recovery) but the distances vary that are completed (e.g. 375m, 400m, 435m). By having someone to run with despite different pacing, we can work together to achieve our goals.

The session is facilitated by Matthew Boevink.

Typical distance around 7.5km, with 5km of this being hard efforts.

Meet at the seats close to the track to the left of the centre aisle.

Megabake King/ Queen of the Mountain Challenge

  • 400 Gregory Terrace Spring Hill, QLD, 4000 Australia

The weather Gods skittled our plans for the Queen's Birthday Public Holiday, but that only builds the anticipation of just who will be our next KOM/ QOM.  This time, we head to Mt Mee - via Samford and Dayboro.

The rules are simple ... first up Mt Mee (from Dayboro) wins the title - along with a bunch of awesomeness courtesy of Megabake.

As per usual, there will be at least two 'groups': 'breakaways' (led by Brad) and 'cruisers' (led by Rachel).  As per previously, the cruisers will likely prefer skip Mt Mee and chillax at the Dayboro bakery (or Samford) before returning home.  For the Breakaways, it's a 110km bike ride.

The ride will leave at 5:30am sharp from the car park of Centenary Pool.
